Painting Chinese Scroll – Silk Wall Art – Lotus Calligraphy

A Lotus Calligraphy scroll gives a bare wall a past and a personality. It gives the eye a place to rest and the mind a place to wander. The mood it sets is one of unhurried ease. It has the stillness of a held breath.

Ink and mineral pigments on silk give the colors their soft, lived-in depth. The ink wash is placed off-center, which keeps the composition lively. Small accents around the fine detailing complete the scene. Balanced composition is given pride of place, and rightly so. The image carries the understated well-wishing that runs through Chinese folk art.

As a piece of Chinese landscape wall art, it is the kind of gift people keep for decades. It slips into handcrafted Chinese artwork quietly and then becomes indispensable. Bottom line, this Lotus Calligraphy scroll delivers quiet beauty without any fuss. The overall balance of the composition keeps it feeling fresh year after year.
